After all the chaos and destruction that Hurricane Dorian brought to the Bahamas this past year, many lost hope, homes, and their beloved pets, too. But, here is a “happy tail” of Miracle - the dog who symbolizes hope and strength. The dog who survived on rainwater for three weeks…
Big Dog Ranch Rescue used special recovery teams to locate and save dogs trapped under debris in Marsh Harbor, Bahamas. One such rescue, a dog trapped under an air conditioning unit and building debris, was thankfully found by our team with the help of drone technology. Miracle was rushed to The Ranch to receive lifesaving medical treatment and much-needed nourishment.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue Founder and President, Lauree Simmons, said the dog was alive but emaciated. "What an incredible story that we were able to discover this dog alive after being trapped for so long. We are using the latest technology for our recovery teams to locate these animals. In this case drones played a key role," Simmons said.
To date 160 dogs have been saved by Big Dog Ranch Rescue from the Bahamas.
And now, Miracle is well-fed, spoiled, and loved by his wonderful family, the Beaty’s! He’s even going to be the star of his own children’s book! Such a “happy tail” for all.
